God Bless Charities

God Bless Charities. Angels or Crooks?

Have you seen many of the channel 2 new casts that investigates a charity called God Bless Charities where the owner who's name is Calvin Tarver has been dragged across the TV screen? These shows that were brought up by Amy Davis of channel 2, where she gives you all of the information on what GBC does to get the money and even what he does with the money when he receives it. In the investigative news that they showed on channel 2 news that Mr. Tarver is nothing other than a panhandler, they say that he cheated people out of their money and it is not being used for what the permit states its for. Well when she spoke on how he was such a big liar, thief, and conartist, she also showed you that he made over 45,000 in fundraising for a period of only 9 months. Then she stated that he paid out over 19,000 in stipends for the people who help fundraise this money for this cause. She then showed you a video of him giving out clothes and serving over 200 people on the street who have HIV, who are homeless and without family. This is the same man who took your money and donations to make informational flyers give out protection to men and women and talk to them about having safe sex practices. This is the same man who gives his last to help anyone in need. Yes he is human too he has to support his family as well as anyone else in this world. is he a crook just because he is choose to use his mind to find a way to help himself and well as 1000's of other people with education, jobs, and help them keep a roof over there head. The people you see out there are people who society would not give a second chance to work at their restaurants or office buildings or even at their daycares. God bless gave many people jobs, food, clothes, as well as help keep them from begging from you the wrong way. The people get up everyday just like they would a job and they get paid just like a job. Amy stated that one of the workers said they get paid 30% for every 99 they make but if you add that up and they work 6-8 hrs a day and they end up with less than $4hr that's not even minimum wage. God Bless Charities does this so that they will be motivated to get up each day and get up and go out and promote to help others who are down and out. Those who are out casted by their families and the government just forgot about. This organization is doing nothing wrong compared to all the other people in this work who are just trying to survive this hard economy we are now living in. think about this. their are rapists, thieves, sexual predators, domestic abusers, gangs, and many more people out their that society should be investigating and trying to stop rather than trying to step on a charity that is actually doing a lot for the community. GBC does not turn anyone down who wants to change and needs the help all they need is a change and Calvin is the only man in this community helping do that right now. The charities she mentioned like ahch claim that people would be out on the street because they don't have the funds but the question is what are they doing to prevent that? They don't try any fundraisers or charity events to help promote hiv/awareness and as far as them being out on streets what about the ones who are on the streets now who can't get help through arch where do they go? There are many ways to look at this and the way it had been aired is completely wrong. This charity shows what it does with the money I believe that this organization's name has been slandered tremendously and I believe that Amy and the lady who started all this should publicly apologize because they do not have their facts straight. You say that he switches topics 4 times but do you even know what the topic represents. You call channel two news and tell them that GBC Calvin Tarver is a moron, cheat and a swindler. Well I believe you're the idiot for not looking at the big story. You are trying to make his name bad and think he only wants to get money out of the people of Houston to put into his pockets. I believe your upset that you couldn't put together or even come up with the thought of putting together and organization this big and this good. Yes he has collected for many different charities but it was all to help the people. The fact is he changed with what was going on in society today to help the homeless which are most likely the ones with the disease the drug users and other people who live on the streets, sharing needles, and having unprotected sex because society has turned away from helping them because the way they look, smell, or even try to approach them. I believe this man and many other people see the change he has made. There are many organizations out for the same types of charities why can't he be one of them? You see where the money is going and it's not all going in his pocket. The world is changing and it is getting worse for our children and their children. We cannot survive on the government alone because not all of us are given that chance. Maybe you need to look at yourself and what you have accomplished in helping your children's future and your grandchildren's future cause this world isn't going to give it to you like candy. You need to stop harassing Calvin Tarver & GBC and get a life because if you can't see the good he is doing for the people in the community then you really need to take a laxative and release that crap you got holding inside and move on. You need to try and help with your own fundraisers and charities and give it how you feel is right because every charity out their does not help all the people just certain kind of people and GBC has shown no racism of any kind when he is working each and everyday to keep people with food, clothing, and job to make a little money to survive in this world. Now you tell me is he really a crook or an angel?

Golf: How To Practice Effectively

Even with lessons, instructional videos and store-purchased aids, your golf game will continue the way it has been without consistent and efficient practice. Consistent because practice sessions involve exercises that are meant to develop muscle memory. Efficient because pacing your energy to the kinds of exercises you’ll do is important as well.

Simple as this point may sound, it is one that is easily overlooked. Many golfers think that for as long as they spend enough time on the practice range, their score will improve. Unfortunately, that is not necessarily so. To get a better game, it is important that your practice sessions be as regimented as the way you play the game itself, if not more.

Before you groan about how boring practices are, it might help to think that practices are what build good playing habits when you hit the greens. And if you approach your practice sessions as more than chores and see them as yet another fun aspect to your game of golf, the results can only be a game all the more fun than it already is.

First of all, think of your practice session in three parts consisting of:

- the warm-up,
- the fresh stage
- and the fatigued stage.

In these three stages, you will carry out different sets of exercises that when done in the right stages will make your practices more effective giving you results you can see on the greens as you play.

- Warm-up:

Many are deceived into thinking that golf requires no strenuous physical activity as it only involves swinging and walking. Nothing could be further from the truth. The very nature of swinging causes your muscle groups to work in ways not common to everyday routine.

Your upper torso, arms, as well as your lower back muscles are the groups most worked when playing golf. Which only shows then that it is important to warm up with some stretches. Start from the top of your head and work your way down to your feet. Flexibility and getting your muscles’ full range of motion is your goal. If you are unfamiliar with stretches, you may consult a trainer or the instructor in your club for some tips.

- Fresh Stage

After your warm-up, start working on exercises that build on a skill you haven’t mastered yet, or on parts of your game that’s been causing you higher strokes. This could be anything from putting, chipping or driving.

The idea is that when you work on these problem areas while you’re still fresh and limber from a stretch routine, your body responds more positively to the exercises you’re subjecting it to.

The thing about most people’s idea of golf practice is simply spending time on the driving range without even considering whether or not driving is their waterloo. But if you’re aware that your short game is what’s giving you problems, then you’d do best to hit the greens to work on your putts as soon as you finish warming up. (As an aside, it has been observed that more than 60% of a player’s strokes take place on the green. Unfortunately, this fact is overlooked by many players thus resulting in poor practice habits.)

- Fatigued stage

Once you start feeling winded from the earlier exercises, move on to work on facets of your game that simply need reinforcement. Since your body already knows this motion, this stage in your practice serves as maintenance to your form.

If any correction is necessary, your stressed out body isn’t as pressured to master a difficult form. As in the previous example, only after working on your problematic short game can you then go to the driving range to give positive reinforcement to your drives.

Finally, here are some more observations and suggestions in carrying out your practice.

- To be able to see continuous improvement, a good practice-to-play ratio is about 2:1, which means giving twice as much time to practice as to what you would spend in playing.

- However, give yourself sufficient time to rest in between exercises and in between stages. While it is a work out, you should not be winded down by the activity. Doing so may actually do more harm than help.

Your game should see improvements as you give your sessions a more defined structure. Be consistent and note the results of your exercises to step up that game one stroke at a time.

Taylormade R9 Driver Instructions How to Configure the FCT and MWT Settings

Taylormade Golf has combined two of their best customization features, FCT and MWT, into one golf club. First we’ll give basic definitions of each with detailed instructions to follow.

There are four main FCT (Flight Control Technology) options, N, NU, R, L, and four more settings in between for a total of eight FCT settings. The change the FCT setting, you just use the wrench to unscrew the shaft, turn it to the setting you want, and screw it back in. The FCT settings affect the face angle, loft, and lie which in turn manipulates the trajectory of the ball. You will find a chart below for each loft that shows how each FCT setting affects the trajectory and specs of the driver.

Taylormade’s Moveable Weight Technology (MWT) was first introduced in the r7 Quad driver several years ago. This technology allows you to move the center of gravity (CG) in the club head by changing the position of weight around the perimeter of the head. This in turn has a profound effect on the trajectory of the ball. The R9 driver comes standard with two 1 gram weights and one 16 gram weight. You’ll find more detailed information below on how the position of each weight affects the trajectory.

FCT Instructions & Specs for Each Loft

The following charts show you how each FCT position effects the face angle, lie, loft, and trajectory bias.

Note: The lofts in the below chart are when the club head is square. The negative numbers for trajectory bias mean a bias to the left or a draw bias.

MWT Instructions for Each Weight Configuration

If you try to use simple logic and physics, then you shouldn’t have too much of a problem mastering Taylormade’s MWT technology. You can use MWT on top of FCT to increase the draw or fade bias you want even more.

If you think logically about how the weight is positioned around the perimeter of the club head you’ll see that this is all pretty easy to comprehend. If you’re trying to hit a draw you’d try to rotate your right hand a little more through impact to close the face through impact. So what you’re essentially doing is closing the toe of the club even more as the head goes through the hitting zone. So what if you want to achieve the same result but just by using the position of weight in the club head? All you would need to do is make sure the toe is lighter than the heel of the club. So to hit a draw, all you would do is put your 16g weight on the heel and put your 1g weight on the toe. What about for a fade? You guessed it, the exact opposite, position the 16g weight on the toe and the 1g weight in the heel to help slow down the closing of the face. So try to commit at least this part to memory so if you are out on the course or range without a chart you’ll know the basics when adjusting your R9.

If you’re wondering how to use MWT to change the height of your drives you can do this by changing how the weight is positioned from the front of the club near the face, to the back of the club. If you add more weight to the back-center of the head this moves the CG back, which in turn raises your trajectory and will also increase your spin rate. To lower the trajectory just add weight to the front of the club near the face, which will also lower your spin rate.

The following chart is a basic guideline for the 3 weights that come with the R9.
Toe, Center, Heel – Trajectory Bias
1g, 1g, 16g - Draw Bias
1g, 16g, 1g - Straight
16g, 1g, 1g - Fade Bias

With the above FCT and MWT instructions you should be able to easily fit yourself so that your R9 driver is truly optimized for your golf swing. The idea is to setup your R9 so that you do not have to change your golf swing to achieve the trajectory you want with your driver, whether it be a 5 yard fade or 10 yard draw. This will promote maximum accuracy as well as maximum distance with your R9 Driver.
